Brought my class for a heritage tour in Chinatown. What a drastic change Chinatown has gone through since the last time i visited the area when i taught P3. I hope the modernization will still preserve the much sought after Chinese heritage. Although it was a scorching Friday, i had a good time learning n relearning what i have been taken for granted...such as....the existence of the five-foot way which was Sir Stamford Raffles' idea and the Indian muslims, basically the Chulias, were proactive in getting the Muslims together at that time by erecting a mosque which was alongside the Hindu shrine and the Chinese temple. Anyway.....enjoys d pics...

Modernization vs the ancient...

the magnificient skyscrapers against the sky in contrast with buildings of yesteryears...

Tour guide Kim who was very patient explaining to the pupils n getting them into d shades.

don't u think it is really uniquely Singapore!!Cool!!

So hop down to Chinatown and look around you for history is everywhere there!

I rest my case... @ 6:25:00 PM
