Brought my class for a heritage tour in Chinatown. What a drastic change Chinatown has gone through since the last time i visited the area when i taught P3. I hope the modernization will still preserve the much sought after Chinese heritage. Although it was a scorching Friday, i had a good time learning n relearning what i have been taken for granted...such as....the existence of the five-foot way which was Sir Stamford Raffles' idea and the Indian muslims, basically the Chulias, were proactive in getting the Muslims together at that time by erecting a mosque which was alongside the Hindu shrine and the Chinese temple. Anyway.....enjoys d pics...

Modernization vs the ancient...

the magnificient skyscrapers against the sky in contrast with buildings of yesteryears...

Tour guide Kim who was very patient explaining to the pupils n getting them into d shades.

don't u think it is really uniquely Singapore!!Cool!!

So hop down to Chinatown and look around you for history is everywhere there!

Juz a school science trip to the Oh's farm...lots of stuffs ive learnt...what a scenery with butterflies, flowers and plants grown through hydrophonics. I had a great time there althought it was a hot morning but at least better than a wet n cold day...went home with freebies of a herb plant for nurturing and a file. And it was also a good time for me to test my new Sony cybershot digicam which ive bought at d recent IT show....with few free memory card, tripod stand and.........a photo printer...how cool is that. Im very satisfied with the clear pictures...like taken by a pro...what a deal.....so enjoy d wonderful shots....

d place...d guide...d info on butterflies at d butterfly lodge

beautiful butterflies fluttering in d lodge...d males r more attractive than d females...hmmm.

my pupils had a good time trying to get those butterflies on their fingers..missed mine.

plants n herbs grown through hydrophonics..very healthy looking..green n fresh

smelling the herbs such as lavender, basil etc...managed to chew on one..very nice!!

colourful flowers adorned the garden where butterflies flit from one to another....butterflies can only be found where the area is clean...something ive learnt over there.

Pictures perfect..need i say more??? It's a SONY!

..........Let's juz say that I had a shitty time in school earlier on coz of something that had happened..but thank God, someone came to save my day...my sweet guy...came all d way from Chicago to spend the weekend with me and also to celebrate my belated bday. I was so touched...i had d whole of Friday afternoon n evening as well as d whole of Saturday...those were d times we had great meals at Arab Street, shopping at Bugis and other stuffs that we can do over there since he stayed at Intercontinental hotel. Such a short time but we had memorable moments together...I cried before leaving him coz it was exactly a year before he expressed his desire to break off from me since he simply had no faith in a long distance relationship...but i guess, we had came this far n i could not believe it either. Patience pays. He said that he loves Singapore coz there is plenty of good food, clean, convenient and of coz becoz of me too. Awwww!! He gave me a necklace with a heart shaped pendant...red...he likes it n i like it too. Ive actually bought him 2 shirts n i know i cant buy anything expensive for him coz he would simply decline such gift. One thing i realise when Im with him, he will ensure that i eat good and nutritious food n he told me that he is very careful over what he eats since he doesnt wan to be fat at his age, like his other Indian friends...all due to the oily food. yeah...it's good to hear that he is making the effort to look good n fit. Handsome always!!lol! He called me early Sunday morning before taking off to India n left me offline message, telling me how much he misses me already. How wonderful. For now, i just wan to celebrate happy moments with him but how far do we go from here...i dont wish to know..let nature takes its own course. Of coz, i will pray for the best!
